A series of works created for Contemporary AF, a Midsumma exhibition by Scratch Arts, held at the Mission to Seafarers 20 April — 1 May 2021.
Eleven emerging queer artists in Melbourne abstract, document and celebrate; delving deep into the spaces where we feel most comfortable truly expressing ourselves — the nightclubs, bedrooms, love lives and in my case, the kitchen.
The series is camp, messy, sticky, weird, colourful and explores hopefully relatable sentiments born out of lockdown. I may not have become a bondafide artisanal sourdough baker but I sure ate a lot, processed some feelings and made some art.
The lettering is hand-crafted and photographed.
