Typography is a particular passion within my design practice. I have an excellent knowledge of typographic principles, and extensive experience with hand lettering including brush lettering, chalk and traditional sign painting. In 2021 I have been working on increasing my knowledge around type design, using the Glyphs program to experiment with creating my own faces and turning my hand lettering into working alphabets.
Below is a selection of my own typographic works.
During my second year at RMIT University, I founded and was president of a student club, The RMIT Communication Design Association (CDA). I recruited high achieving students to run lunch time skillshare workshops in their varying areas of speciality.
As part of this, I began lettering workshops and developed a printout to aid my teaching and serve as a take-home sheet for people to continue learning and practice.
This printable and a selection of photos from during the workshops are located to the right.
I recently completed an alumni presentation for current Communication Design students at RMIT University. The below is a presentation outling my career trajectory and some of my work since leaving university. Many of the presentation elements are hand drawn and lettered.
